St Michael’s Catholic School

Artist’s impressions of the proposed shared building

This website supports the community engagement on plans to regenerate St Michael’s Catholic School in High Wycombe. The proposals represent a major investment from the Department for Education’s School Rebuilding Programme.

The transformational proposals include demolition of ten existing buildings that are no longer fit for purpose and the construction of three new buildings; a new primary, a new secondary and a new shared block for chapel, dining and assembly halls. Three existing buildings will remain, of which the current main reception building and the current sports hall building will be refurbished and remodelled.

The project team, led by GRAHAM Construction, welcome your views before they submit a planning application to Buckinghamshire Council. Please go to our Have your say page and share your feedback by Friday 6th December 2024.

If planning permission is granted, construction will be phased over approximately four years. Use of the current temporary primary classrooms will continue during construction. Additional temporary classrooms will be required during construction and will be part of the planning application. All temporary facilities will be removed upon completion.

The discovery of Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (RAAC) planks in the buildings at St Michael’s has meant that the primary school is operating in temporary classrooms on site.
